ABOUT
MEN OF HONOR MINISTRIES

Paul Powers always had a Holy Spirit inspired passion to minister to men in their Christian walk. He was keenly aware of the role men are to play as the spiritual leaders of their families, churches, businesses, and communities.  Through his engaging personality, he would regularly ask men to have coffee, breakfast, lunch, or dinner with him to pray, encourage, and guide them in their walk.  He established  the Washington County Men’s Prayer Breakfast almost 30 years ago to bring a larger group of men together to accomplish that same type of Christian ministry.

In 2013, Paul was moved by the Holy Spirit (or as he like to say, “constrained by the Holy Spirit!”) to bring a group of men together to begin to pray regularly for the City of Washington and the greater community.  He began to invite men to meet on Friday mornings at 7:00am once a month.  Very quickly, the group started to meet weekly for worship, time in the Word of God, prayer and a message from Paul.  The same focus of helping men be better Christian husbands, fathers, sons, employees, leaders and church members was the message. Paul chose the name: Men of Honor.

The group grew to over 20 regularly attending members.

From that, Paul formalized the group into a 501(c)(3) organization.  Over time, the group has met at Life Church, the upper room of The Table Coffee Shop, the Washington Park (during Covid) and most recently at Harmony House Café in Washington.

Since Paul’s passing into eternal glory, the leadership of Men of Honor has been working to honor Paul by continuing the legacy Paul established.
